La Dolce Vita in Sardinia, Italy

Romantique/ Travel/ Wardrobe

Another day, another beach with impossibly turquoise water and deep blue skies and white beaches. Everything here is crisp and clear and the greyness of London seems miles away.

The Costa Smeralda got it’s name from the beautiful emerald coloured water. And I can confirm the colour of the water is just as promised. no “vivid colour” camera mode is needed.

When the Costa Smeralda was built in the 50s and 60s, the consortium of investors (One of them Karim Aga Khan), were enchanted by the area and decided to build only low environmental impact holiday complexes to preserve the beautiful area. They set down a series of stringent rules to preserve the beatiful land:

– The construction of Hotels built near beaches is forbidden to keep the unspoiltness

– No high-rise buildings are allowed to be constructed but only low, stone-washed Tuscan-style houses that blend beautifully into the area.

All this makes the Costa Smeralda a haven of beautiful surroundings, perfect to relax and leave your worries behind.

Below: Beaching it up: I’m wearing red-White Vichy checked shirts from Benetton and a crochet top from Stefanel.
