Last weekend, temperatures in London soared up to 30 degrees Celsius – something we did not see all summer long . For such a glorious London day, the peaceful and romantic Holland Park (tube station Holland Park) is the perfect getaway for some relaxing time. Sitting on the grass, watching the squirrels and peacocks, listening to the potpourri of different languages surrounding you and wondering what brought them to London.
Holland Park Road itself is a grand boulevard shaded by big trees and lined by impressive huge Victorian townhouses. A variety of shops caters for the multinational clientele such as a continental delicatessen shop (I got my German gingerbread there early, never mind it melted in the sun), a gelato shop, a French patisserie, international book shop and many more.
