Too old to be wearing Converse Chucks?

Rebel Alexa/ Shoes

All year round, 365 days a year, I love wearing my white and blue Converse with skinny jeans, Céline pants, Chinos – all types of pants but not to skirts. Again and again I read that people beyond their forty years are not so well advised to wear Chucks. So, am I too old to wear Converse??

I think it’s hard to give categorical style recommendations for certain age groups. Of course it needs a sense of proportion and a bit of skill in styling. If it’s there, then I can well imagine Chucks on a 85 year old woman. For me, Converse are the only shoes that are completely ageless, wearable from kids to grandma. I am sure that I will put on my Converse Chucks the next 20 years and then I will be 62 year old!

Christmas wish list: Customised Converse!!

Romantique/ Shoes

Christmas is approaching fast and if you are looking for a cool and unique present, then you have to go to London ‘s Selfridges!

Converse are not only “Religion” in Paris (according to our favourite French style icon Ines de la Fressange) but they are also popular worldwide.

At London’s Selfridges “Offspring” shoe department located on the first floor, you can have your Converse inked with a custom design.  There are hundreds of logos, images and words to choose from. In a matter of minutes your chosen graphic and / or words will be inked onto the shoe.

You cannot see the designs available online as they are copyright protected, so showing up in person to the store on Oxford Street, is the only way to get your feet into a pair. Hop to it!

Chose from over 200 designs to be inked onto your converse!

One of the designs on the screen…

And this is what the design looks like on the shoe!

The customisation costs vary from £10-25 depending on the size of the graphics on top of the cost of the shoe, a real bargain for such a unique and cool style statement!

My favourite designs: A pink kitty…

And heart shaped lollies!

Look like Jessica Biel

Rebel Alexa

Marie Antoinette Chucks

Rebel Alexa/ Shoes
