When I don’t know what to wear (which is most of the time as I’m sure you can symphasize with!) I play it safe with a jeans or a denim skirt and a pretty top. Mine is from Stefanel and I just love the detail: Flowers sewed on olive green silk with white lacy edges. My denim skirt is from Esprit, shoes and sunglasses from TK Maxx.
