The beautiful, unspoilt coastline of the Costa Smeralda belongs to a private consortium including Prince Karim Aga Khan – and the Spiaggi del Principe (Prince’s beach) was one of his favourite beaches – hence the name.
As with all the beaches of the Costa Smeralda, Spiaggi Principe is unspoilt and no buildings around disturb the view. The beach is accessed through a narrow dirt walking track. The stunning turqoise, green and crystal clear waters owe their colour to the granite containing seabed. The sand is fine like sugar and it is safe to say that this is a piece of paradise!
You won’t rub shoulders with the the Costa Smeralda jet set there as they hang out on their yachts or at private beaches. Mainly Italian tourists populate the beach which is never overcrowded even in peak season. Luckily for us, the stunning beaches of the Costa Smeralda, even though they belong to a private consortium, are still accessible to the public.
