Tights are an integral part of our wardrobe for the colder season and it’s worth it to invest in a good quality pair. Cheap looking tights with a run (or even worse in skin colour!) can destroy the neatest outfit. You can carry your favourite silk skirts over into autumn with a pair of nice woolen tights to keep you warm and toasty.
As a passionate dress / skirt dresser I’m always on the lookout for tights made from exquisite, non-sweaty, long-lasting materials and with trendy pattern. Leading the pack of luxurious, excellent quality hosiery are Wolford (Austrian), Fogal (Swiss) and Falke (German).
These tights have been tried and tested over the years and have passed my strict QA:
Wolford: You cannot ignore dots this season and these “Bonny Dots” (above) stockings will look great combined with a monochrome outfit. Fabric: Polyamide/nylon/polyester/elastane
Falke: The classic “Cotton Touch” is a workhorse! Warm and opaque but still fine and elegant enough for the office. The colour “blueberry” is my favourite, a purple/blueish hue, great to mix up black outfits. The Falke “Degradée” picks up the colour gradient trend and the “Stripes” tight is sure to spice up any outfit.
Fogal: Made in Italy, the “Conneticut” has a pretty and delicate crochet pattern. Fabric: 78% viscose/12% polyamide/9% cashmere/1% elastane.
