In the heart of Primrose Hill – star studded writers and artists enclave – we stumbled about this hidden gem by sheer luck, and it has now become one of my favourites!
This authentic Russian tea room has a cool ambience and is lovingly decorated with a wall of Matroschkas in a red / gold themed decor. Prices were reasonable and we enjoyed these delicious dishes:
Warm blinis with smoked salmon, Herring fillet with beetroot and new potato, Mizeria (cucumber salad in a Joghurt sauce), a REAL Vienna Schnitzel (veil escalope, not beef, chicken or worse pork) and a basket of fresh rye bread to die for! In the end I could only squeeze in one desert, a divine home-made Apple Charlotte.
Hailing from North Germany, I know my way around these types of cuisine andTrojka represents London’s best shot at quality renditions of these typical Norht German and Eastern European dishes.
Make sure to check out this restaurant when you’re in Primrose Hill but do book in advance as we are not the only ones who have discovered this find!
