We have to thank Coco Chanel for one of the most timeless and elegant fashion classics: The Breton shirt, the quilted leather handbag, the monochrome look and the long strands of pearls.
To not make a pearl necklace look dated, we like our pearls long, paired with the obligatory mariniere stripes (bien sur!) and with relaxed denim. Pop over a navy blazer or boucle jacket to complete the look.
Above: Pearls don’t have to be Chanel. Rebel’s casual, multi strand necklace is from Sum Cinque.
I love playful pearl necklaces as shown above on Anne Hathaway from the movie “The Devil wears Prada”. Consisting of several strands and playful charms thrown in. If you like your pearls whimsical like me, look for a mix of pearls and iconic Chanel charms such as the Eifel tower, the birdcage, the camellia, globes and bows.
Just like Rebel, I like my gem necklace stylish but casual: Paired with a breton striped cashmere cardigan from Galliano and denim skirt from H&M,
On my wish list: Chanel pearls and Vichy gingham bows. J’adore!
