“Leopard skin is vulgar. Black makes you look slimmer. Slim-fit is for skinny people. Navy blue is what your mother wore. Nobody wears mini skirts after 35. All of these cliches immobilise and intimate us when we’re casting about for a style of our own.  …. We can develop our own style, even if to do so we have to go against the trends and the cliches”. – from the Book “Paris Street Style” by Isabelle Thomas and Federique Veysset. Our beloved inspiration guide.

Truer words have never been spoken.  The leopard print coat has become something of a signature look for me. My coat  is not from a high-end designer like Dolce & Gabbana, who’s made the animal print it’s signature. Quite the opposite, it’s a steal from Zara and looks classy and chic despite it’s modest price tag. I pair it minimalistically with skinny jeans, pointy flats and a sober jumper, there’s no risk of slipping into tacky territory.

I am wearing:

  • Black and white leopard print coat from Zara
  • Black skinny jeans from Zara
  • Pointy flats from Kurt Geiger
  • Light blue jumper from Uniqlo
  • cream sunglasses from Paul Smith
  • Belt by Just Cavalli
  • woven black leather handbag from Falorni

Inspirational fashion icons in leopard prints throughout the times:

1. Jackie Kennedy – even 50 years after her hey-days, her style still doesn’t look dated.

2. Emmanuelle Alt, Editor in Chief of French Vogue

3. Alexa Chung, London’s coolest kid on the block

4. Kate Moss – Mossy in one of her best outfits
