Denim is definitely back and I especially love dresses for upcoming summer next week in Germany!
I’m dressed in a comfortable and understated outfit – an oversized denim dress from TKmaxx for 16 EUR!
School run: Stella wearing a dress from her own fashion range. She has nice legs, by the way.
There was as much to learn from the street style in between the spring 2012 fashion shows as on the runways. One lesson from Fashion Week Street Style is the Geometry:
Study up and let your outfit take on urban geometry.
For this trend, I had to put on that lovely geometry pastel shirt from Moschino! I wish I could afford it but unfortunately my fashion budget for this month is already used up.
A more understatement geometry shirt by Isabel Marant.
How stunning is this Dolce & Gabbana SS 2012 dress with fruit print and a Gondoliere scene? It comes in at 580 Euros so if you just want to try this style for a season, look no further than below!
Scenic print dresses remind us of gelato and the Italian Riviera. And they look divine on 50s shaped dresses.
Kelly Brook looks summery on icecold Brighton Pier last week, to promote New Look’s new summer range, available soon! Can’t wait to try this one on. Love the flowers at the hem.

Fashionable femmes suited up in menswear-inspired ensembles and separates.
The vibrant leopard print wedges breaks up a classic stripe shirt and a well-suited velvet blazer.
WEAR: Jessica Simpson leo wedges, Bogner shirt, Closed velvet blazer, sporty Agnes J-Brand, white belt Tiger of Sweden, Celiné Sunglasses
No matter the sun is shining or not, I never leave out the house without my Celiné sunglasses. Like all Parisian women I always wear sunglasses even on cloudy days.
Play up the menswear – maybe you can find in the closet of your boyfriend, a stylish shirt for the men’s style look.
Twice a year, British Vogue publishes a 38 page supplement on affordable fashion called ” More Dash than Cash”. The summer issue comes out in May and this year, Vogue’s fashion editors picked the High Street brands which translated the catwalk ready to wear trends best.
This year, the “More Dash than Cash” issue focuses on these trends:
- Tribal Tech as seen at Burberry
- Pastel colours – everything from soft pink to primrose yellow
- Broderie Anglaise – as seen at Louis Vuitton
H&M collaborated with Vogue on the issue. One of my favourite H&M pieces is the melon coloured lace pencil skirt and the emboroidered blouse with Peter Pan collar.

The Empire style dresses and coats, sometimes refered to as Babydoll, describes a style in which the dress has a fitted bodice ending just below the bust, giving a high-waisted appearance, and a gathered skirt which is long and loosely fitting but skimming the body.
My beige Empire Style trenchcoat is from Stefanel SS 2012 and has the classic characteristics of the Empire coat: Pockets at the front and ruffled at the back.
Team the coat with ballet shoes or boots like Jessica Alba below to tone down the girly look of her Isabel Marant denim empire dress.
Sienna Miller paired her girly Empire dress with flat sandals and a cropped jacket.
Spring’s exotic gypsy and folk trend, as seen on the runways of Etro or Missoni, seems difficult to translate into your everyday wardrobe. The key to getting the gypsy look right is to keep the focus on one piece.
Look how Kate does it: She paired her black and gold sheer embroidered peasant top with dark flared jeans and simple boots. Then, finish off the look with exotic accessories via reptilian-print satchel bags.
And the Tulips are the prettiest Accessoires ever!
French Style Icon Carole Bouquet wearing a blue-white folk blouse.
Anna Wintour is known for keeping her slim model-esque figure by eating no carbs protein lunches such as meat with salad and no dressing.
Spring time is asparagus time, and this delicious high protein meal can be rustled up in just 7 minutes!
- Fry the asparagus with a little bit of oil for about 5 minutes in a pan until it’s slightly brown. Sprinkle some lemon juice, cracked pepper and Parmesan cheese on top
- Break two eggs into a bowl and add a dash of milk and some salt, pepper and tomatoes. Stir the mix until it’s runny. Pour the mix into a non sticky pan and stir it until it’s solidified.
Et voila, Bon Appetit! If desired, you can add smoked salmon or Parma ham to this delicious dish.
Make-up artist Rae Morris suggests a great tip if you are looking to update your look or are unsure of what colours / make-up suits you: Just pick a celebrity who is similiar in age and colouring whose make-up you like and find out what products they use to achieve their looks.
British Make-up Artist Lisa Eldrige’s blog site has been a real treasure find as she frequently styles celebs for cover shoots and events.
Here is my favourite make-up look for Danish Supermodel Helena Christensen at the Elle Style Awards 2011:
- Make Up For Ever – HD Foundation (Lisa mixed a few shades to match Helena’s gorgeous olive complexion)
- Chanel – Blush Duo Tweed Effect – Tweed Fuchsia
- Dior – 5 Couleurs Designer Eyeshadow Palette – Smoky Design
- Bobbi Brown – Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner – Black Ink
- Max Factor – Xperience Mascara – Black
- Suqqu – Eyebrow Liquid Pen – 02
- Laura Mercier – Lip Glace – Glistening Sand
Lisa said that Helena is probably one of the most naturally beautiful women she had ever met and looked amazing with this dark, smoky eye. The look was kept a bit edgy and rock n roll by adding some smudgy glitter all over her eye, and then teamed with her trademark pink cheeks and glossy lips.
