Tapestry Florals

Romantique/ Skirts/ Wardrobe

The arts & craft fashion movement has taken over the Autumn/Winter 2012 runways with rich tapestry in the form of colourful needlepoint florals and prints!

Yet again, Dolce & gabbana have been at the forefront of this movement inspired by Sicily’s baroque religious traditions with decadent  tapestry floral prints.

I love the needlework print as it’s exudes sweetness and  is reminiscent of another time, when precious pieces were created by hand with the finest of materials. You don’t have to splash out to indulge in this cute trend: My short pencil skirt with tapestry floral print is from H&M AW 2012/2013.

I’m wearing: Tapestry floral skirt from H&M, powder blue turtleneck jumper from Stefanel AW 2012/2012, minibag from Moschino, blue sunglasses from Chloe.

At Dolce and Gabbana, the decadent scenes of flowers and birds also appeared on handbags and heels. British high street giant River Island, always one of the quickest to copy the Italian trends, made this cute copy of needlework florals.
