I always buy overseas magazines to keep abreast of international trends and to see how different countries interpret fashion in different ways.
I especially liked the 40s pin up spread in the French Elle. Womanly, seductively grown up.
Enjoy the beautiful photos and my Pin Up Style recommendations!

Apparently, it takes Spanish retail giant Zara 6 weeks to copy clothing from the day of the Fashion show to display in their shops. That’s a quick turnaround!
This year, Zara copied heavily from Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton and put a nice wearable twist onto their clothes.
Here are my favourite high street lovelies which proves that fashion doesn’t always have to be expensive!
Above: Kate Moss models this sugary sweet broderie anglaise dress with dainty leather detail from Marc Jacob’s Louis Vuitton SS 2012 collection. Zara’s version is a cute broderie anglaise shirt with a tweed skirt complete with feather detail.
In this catwalk copy version of the embroidered shirts, Zara combined the dainty blouse with a red hot peplum pencil skirt.
Mamma Mia! Gorgeous Italian Model Bianca Balti in a nude lace top by Dolce & Gabbana- so womanly!
German High Street Retailer S Oliver came up with this feminine nude lace dress.
Dolce and Gabbana sent their models in full skirts on the runway for the SS2012 collection with vegetable pattern detail and cropped tops. The Oasis Highstreet version is light blue and decorated with juicy pineapples.
What is your favourite trend this spring / summer?
…never dissappoints! No matter what trend other fashion retailers push, you can always rely on the classic, fresh East Coast look from GANT: Bright and pastel colours, gingham /Vichy /dots and marine stripes on Chinos, shift dresses, capri trousers and skirts!
I’m wearing a quintessential Gant blouse with pink gingham checks and puff sleeves.

Danish and family owned high street giant Vero Moda managed to get Alexa Chung, Britain’s coolest girl inspired by French pop, to embody their brand. And their is plenty of Alexa-ness in the collection:
- cream coloured Peter Pan Collars
- Flat brogues in socks teamed with dainty dresses
- Alexa’s trademark hair style: tousled, out of bed hair
This cute cream cherry mini dress is also available in black
My favourite in the Vero Moda store was this petrol blue, stretchy pencil denim skirt and the blouse with printed mouth watering watermelons and sliced oranges!
Parisian chic a la Ines de la Fressange: The boyish shorts and parker style is softened with the delicate lace blouse and Peter Pan collar

Spring is already in the air here in London: Longer days, milder temperatures, friendlier people.
How much more fun is it to eye up your new favourites key pieces for the new season when you feel summer is near! Here are my top picks of ballet flats for the spring wardrobe:
Above: Sweet as petit fours, Pretty Ballerinas in sugary colours such as sweet pink, lush purple, refreshing mint and honeyed lemon. Play princess and team them dainty with 50s skirts, be rocky and pair them with a leather jacket or add some colour to mix up a classic office outfit.

The iconic Parisian department store Galeries Lafeyette opened it’s first German branch in 1996 in Berlin. If you are in Berlin, make sure to check out all the latest fashion from designer to high street as well as the huge makeup department and a Parisian styled Bistro area.
Below are my picks for the new spring / summer season 2012!
Espadrille from Spanish label Castaner with a Chanel-esque patent leather tip
A great way to rock the romantic trend 2012 is to take a classic trenchcoat with broderie anglaise details – this one is from Valentino Red.
No summer without rain – This umbrella with fresh pink Vichy checks lightens up the rainy days
Dainty, pastel coloured flowers on Valentino handbags – I love this season!
Furla is one of the few Italian fashion and handbag labels that is still family owned and also reasonably priced for the quality. Like all Furla handbags, this is one is exquisitly crafted and adds class to any outfit!
All you need to morph into a siren à la Sophia Loren for the upcoming spring and summer season :
- Eyeliner painted with a kitten flick (I Love Bobbi Brown’s gel eyeliner)
- Printed shift and 50s dresses
The look is so feminine and flattering, it suits every body type! The below printed shift dress by Dolce & Gabbana instantly took 5 pounds off me with it’s fitted shape and stretchy material.
