Slogan Tee and Bouclé Jacket

Denim/ Romantique/ Shirts/ Wardrobe

Anna Wintour Slogan Tee

Slogan Tees  are attention seeking,  look-at-me garnments I steer away from – usually. There are T-Shirts for which I gladly make an exception – like this Anna Wintour Tee with one of  my favourite quotes from her: “You either know fashion or you don’t”.  For me, fashion is an expression of my personal style and how I want to be perceived by others, and that, you either know or you don’t

On styling the Slogan Tee, I’ve taken a style leaf out of Rebel’s book and combined the Anna Wintour T-shirt with a structured jacket (Bouclé Jacket) with limoncello Jeans from Luella.

Berlin East Side Gallery Street Style

Berlin/ Travel

I love going back home to Berlin and re-discover some of Berlin’s most iconic sights. When you’ve been living in your hometown for years, one can get lazy appreciating and visiting the city’s landmarks. One of Berlin’s landmarks is the East Side Gallery. It is a 1.3 km-long painted stretch of the former Berlin Wall along the Mühlenstrasse in former East Berlin.

Galvanised by the extraordinary events which were changing the world, artists from all around the globe rushed to Berlin after the fall of the Wall, leaving a visual testimony of the joy and spirit of liberation which erupted at the time.

Above: One of the best known paintings of the East Side Gallery is the Trabi knocking down the wall by Birgit Kinder. I’m wearing a tulip skirt with water colour detail from Moschino Cheap & Chic, Boucle Jacket from Trident, pointy patent leather kitten heels from Logan

The murals are under heritage protection and have been restorated in 2009. The artists transformed the grey concrete rearticulating this into a

lasting expression of freedom and reconciliation.

The painting Fatherland by Günther Schäfer combines the German and Israeli flags and is – in Schäfer’s words – ‘a symbol for peace and a memorial against any kind of fanaticism’. Read more about Schäfer’s painting here.

The East side gallery  is possibly the largest and longest-lasting open air gallery in the world and consists of 105 paintings from artists from all over the world.

Have you ever visited the East Side Gallery in Berlin? If so, what’s your favourite painting and why?

Romantique’s hottest sunglasses

Accessoires/ Romantique

Spring and summer is looming; time to re-assess our sunglasses wardrobe, feng-shui redundant models and add to the collection where necessary. Make sure you have at least one of the below types to stay super cool in the heat!

50s cat eye retro sunglasses in Sorbet colours – the fun companion for 2012

Theses glasses will be perfect companions for a swinging A-line dress and a straw handbag! Mine is called “Jacky Berry” from Fossil, Model PS3897649. The Model is wearing Hugo Boss blinkers from the current season.

Ray Bans – the Iconic ones

Cool like an igloo – Ray Ban Aviator shades, Model #RB4125

Chloé – The Chic classic

Elegant and classy, you can’t go wrong with these specs. Similar in shape to Ray Bans’ trapezoidal wayfarer but softer angled and slightly bigger (CL2242 in Havanna).

The Celeb shades

Big enough to hide puffy eyes from too much partying or heartbreak – the preferred celebrity choice is smooth and chic and fits every outfit. Some can look too sporty or bug-eyed, so here’s a selection of my classy favourites:

Heidi Klum wars Chloé sunglasses CL 2211.

Rebel wears Chloé specs CL 2210.

Jil Sander sunglasses JS 6404S

Rebel’s favourite sunglasses (from bottom up) : Chloe c 2189, Ray Ban 3211 small, Valentino 5688/S, Etro SE 9915, Lanvin 4124, Lagerfeld 668 SG

When you chooe sunglasses, make sure to venture out a bit and try some colour: Grey, plum, ivory, old pink, marine, or chocolate are trendy but still classic enough to give your frames some edge.
