Winter is sneaking up on us which means we can wear richer, more intense and sweeter perfumes again. Sweet, vanilla-based perfumes tend to polarise, you either love them or hate them. But there is something for everyone: From discreetly, barely there, sweet fragrances to indulgent, deeper scents.
Thierry Mugler’s classic Angel (above) is not for the faint hearted! It’s very strong and it requires confidence to wear it. My boyfriend owns the male version and I love the sweet vanilla bakery scent on him. Angel is a heavenly scent of caramel, spiced chocolate, berries and vanilla. Plus if you ‘re single, watch out, men tend love this perfume!
Prada’s Candy:. If Angel is too full-on for you, try Candy! It’s a deep, spicy, vanilla and amber scent, not too intense and very subtle for a sweet fragrance. Plus I adore the gold-pink POP packaging, a pleasant surprise from the usually minimalistic Prada.
L by Lolita Lempicka: This is sweet yet all grown-up. Spicy cinnamon and vanilla mixed with bitter orange make an interesting, not too overpowering scent. This one reminds me of the beach too, which makes it a scent perfect for summer and winter.
