Gelato eyes

Beauty/ Romantique
This spring the theme of every big cosmetic house is colours – pastel colours, sorbet colours, pop colours –  To match the fashion trend of the gorgeous ice cream colours from baby pink to pistachio.
I’ve checked out  the new looks and my three favourites are:
Yves Saint Laurent’s Vinyl Palette “Candy Face”
Don’t worry, this eye palette looks a lot stronger in the quad than it is on the eye.  The colours on the left are pearly and the ones on the right are satiny. The coverage is sheer to medium but can be build up if you like. Beware that strong colours require a flawless complexion so make sure to use a good foundation and cover up all impurities so the colours can take centre stage.

Dior’s “Garden Party”:

Two palettes of beautiful golden greens and pinky/lilac tones, I especially liked the embossed roses on the shadow. The colours are very frosty / pearly which is a look not everyone likes. I had to compensate the frostyness with strong eyeliner to not look washed out.

Givenchy’s Le Prisme Yeux Quatuor in Bucolic Blossoms

This quad represents the colours of the spring: Brown is for wood, green for grass (for the brave girls!), pink for fruit tree blossom and mauve for the first blues of nature awakening. Gorgeous, pearly shades that can be worn sheer or stronger when built up. The brown colour is perfect to balance out the pastel colours.
