Chop a Bob

Bags/ Romantique

The bob hairstyle is not just a trend but a timeless classic. It doesn’t suit everybody and if you are unsure, go to a department store and try a wig or play around with one of the hair make-over apps.

Above: Rebel has an oval face shape, meaning every hairstyle suits her. Througout the years, she had very short hair to very long “Cher Hair”. I think the bob hairstyle suits Rebel best,  it’s the best haircut for her hair structure: Lots of hair, fine and glossy.

Stunning beauty Charlotte Casiraghi of Monaco sporting an undone bob

Monaco’s Princess Charlotte Casiraghi looks soooooooo much better with an undone bob, what do you think? I noticed that the French ladies love their tousled bobs, effortless chic springs to mind!

Everyone with fine hair is better off wearing a shorter hairstyle: There’s nothing worse then long, thinned-out, split end hair just for the sake of having long hair. A well groomed bob looks so much better. Wear it undone, wavy or graphic and straight, there are so many possibilities within this one hair style. For thick hair, I love a blunt layered bob to show off the structure of the hair.

Browse through our pictures and let us know, do you prefer the bob or the long hairstyle on the celebs shown and Rebel?

Lea Seydoux bob hairstyle

French actress and star of the Prada Candy ad Lea Seydoux with girly, innocent long hair and a sexy, undone bob complementing her feminie 50s dress by Dolce & Gabbana perfectly.

Who can wear a bob?

Tips from my hairdresser:

The ultimate goal is to make the face appear to be oval. If you have a heart shape face, go with a side part and a swept over fringe to make the forehead appear smaller. If you have a round face, keep layers on the sides longer to elongate the face. If you have a square face, try a shorter chin length bob.

The last time I wore a bob was in my early 20s and I remember I cried for 2 months after the visit to the hairdresser because I hated it so much, enviously eyeballing all girls with long hair.  Funnily enough, there are no pictures of me from this time, I really must have detested it. Over a decade has passed since then and I think I might be ready for the chop – especially seeing that since living in London, my hair seems to get shorter and shorter (the hard water and moist weather makes it a nightmare to handle). I’m not experimenting 5 weeks before my wedding though – so stayed tuned for a new Romantique post wedding!

This is the only instance in which I would vote for the longer hair: Margerita Missoni just looks best with long, flowing hair to complement hair free spirit, uncoventional fashion style
