I have to be married to a millionaire in order to afford to buy any trend from a high fashion label. What’s the solution to this problem beacuse I really like to have cap toe heels!? At H&M, Zara, Mango and all the other high street shops you can get great me too versions and bang! You get the trend and your budegt is still in balance.
My cap toe heels are from H&M and really super comfortable to wear, I didn’t expect! And they look fantastic for 29,95 EURO!!!!
I am a flats kind of girl – ballet pumps, loafers, boots, sandals – I’m on my feet a lot so I want something comfy.
But a heel, whether stiletto or block, always looks sophisticated and sexy. It vamps up every outfit and if you are like me and love flat shoes, you should make the effort now and then to walk on high heels.
See the transformation of the same casual Breton outfit with flats and stiletto heels.
Above: I’m wearing white capri jeans with heart pocket details from Love Moschino, a Breton shirt from Uniqulo and a kindergarten bag from Moschino paired with Pretty Ballerina ballet pumps.
Now the same outfit in brown stiletto Salvatore Ferragamo heels with wide ankle clasp. Straight away they give the outfit a feminine twist. Make sure you practice to walk in heels beforehand as nothing is more unsexy than staggering around.

Welcome to Part 2 of my 10 essential wardrobe items! Let’s start:
Style Icon Ines de la Fressange reckons the biker leather jacket in tan is the nonplusultra of every wardrobe. Colour and style (biker, round neck, blouson) is up to you and your preferences. I prefer a round neck and light calf leather with three quarter lengths sleeves in a caramel colour as black is too harsh on me. The leather jacket I’m wearing above is from Stefanel. Style it with dresses, shorts, skirts. Leather jackets are great way to edge up a feminine outfit (think floral pretty dress). Style them on a Saturday night out with an evening dress. Or with denim to go for coffee with friends. The Leather jacket will never let you down!
Ballet pumps are an all rounder for every occasion: Casual, dress down, dress up. Materials range from Suede leather, patent leather, lace, woven leather, gemstones appliques and so many more. There’s one ballet pump for every occasion. My favourite combination is the A Line skirt with pumps. Or Denim. Or Capri Pants. Just make sure to choose well made shoes as nothing looks worse than quickly run down ballet pumps. I love Pretty Ballerinas for the excellent craftsmanship and huge range.
The slim skirt (i.e. pencil skirt or tulip skirt) is a miracle worker! It suits every body type and makes every woman look 5 kilo less. It’s elegant and timeless. It works in the office just like on a night out. Knee lengths is the best and most flattering shape and the most appropriate for every occasion. My tulip skirt with water colour detail is from Moschino Cheap & Chic.
Most women underestimate the power of a well fitting bra. What’s the point of a chic trendy top if you don’t match it with a flattering bra to go underneath ? I have “pretty” bras and my “workhorse” bras. These are invisible bras without seams and just the right amount of padding to make every top and dress look good.
Above: The nude coloured bra from Triumph (one of my “workhorses” ) is an essential to wear under white and light coloured blouses. The two bras at the top are “pretty bras” – a Vichy checked pink bra from Etam and a Dirndl Bra by Triumph.
Just like the Leather jacket, the fitted blazer is a versatile all rounder. It’s not as casual as the leather jacket and looks smarter and pulled together. Jennifer Aniston loves her navy Blazers with denim. I have dark blazers I prefer wearing at work. My colourful turquoise blazer is from Moschino. My favourite combination is to wear it with skirts and dresses to balance out the emphasized shoulders.
We’d love to hear from you! Tell us about your essential wardrobe items you can’t live without. Read about Part 1 of my 10 essential wardrobe items here.
One of the most versatile shoe on earth must be the short cowboy boots. In summer, wear it with shorts, skirts and dresses. In winter, wear them with skinny jeans and leggins.
Above: I’m wearing tan coloured, flat short boots with a sailor Massimo Dutti dress and straw bag.
A string of celebreties have been seen wearing Isabel Marant’s Dicker boots. I love the combination Kate Bosworth wears – short light blue shorts, millefleur floral top and nude dicker Boots.
Claudia Schiffer knows how to brave the London weather: She teams a cute floral frock with lace-up shorts boots.
How cool are these patent pastel pink ballet-esque espadrilles from Kurt Geiger? Espadrilles are a classic summer staple that you can wear well into September (weather permitting)! You canget them in many variations: Flat, wedged, open toe, closed, made from patent or suede leather or just fabric.
Wear them with sun dresses, capri trousers, maxi dresses and have fun.
I’m wearing flat sandals with espadrille sole from Tamaris with a little black dress.
Ankle boots wearing with a summer dress is a great fashion idea – I love it. The boots gives a super cool look and feminine toughness. Rethink the possibility for your outfit it fits nicely for the day or the evenings.

Thanks to Balmain and all fashionable ladies!
When thinking about Germany, one thinks about engineering and cars rather than fashion. But German fashion is better than its reputation: Riani is a German brand you should keep your eyes peeled for: Excellent tailoring, high quality fabrics and trendy patterns are Riani’s strong points. The company makes a point of only producing in Europe and sourcing their fabrics solely from Italy.
This summer, delicious fruits and breezy flower fields remind me of Portofino, anno 1950.
Floral and polka dots in one: The perfect pencil skirt for summer! White shirt from Stefanel.
My favourite from Riani’s “Endlesss summer” collection: Dress “Lemon sky”.
Aren’t these vichy checked cherry peep toes from Tamaris
I never used to like nude shoes, I thought they would make my foot look “pale” because the colour is blending in with my skintone and doesn’t provide enough contrast.
Well, it turns out I was wrong because this very fact makes nude heels / flats / wedges so great. They elongate your leg, making them look longer, leaner and taller!
If you are still in doubt, read my 5 reasons why everyone should have a pair of nude shoes in their wardrobe:
- Nude goes with everything! You can tone down a very colourful outfit with nude shoes (see pic 4)
- Nude is a neutral colour, meaning you can wear nude shoes in summer and winter! A pair of closed nude heels will be your best friend in all seasons.
- Nude shoes make your legs look longer and thinner as they extend the leg
- You will often see smaller celebs like Eva Longoria and Kylie Minogue in nude shoes, these ladies know the styling trick of how to look taller!

Victoria Beckham, Penelope Cruz and Angelina Jolie all know how to make their legs look endless!
Closed heels in nude patent leather from Sergio Rossi! What a dream shoe, they are neither too round nor too pointy, the perfect classic heel!
A colourful outfit like this, marshmallow blue pleated skirt and melon coloured lace top, can be calmed down with nude heels from Rupert Sanderson.
No Spring-to-Summer season is complete without its flat sandal complement. For every floral dress, slouchy boyfriend jeans, sheer silk blouse and cropped trouser, there’s a slick sandal to go with it.
Nice to see this Pucci sandals that aren’t all gladiators!
I love the electric turquoise, the tender decoration with pastel stones and the wavy foot bed.
In a flat sandal you can ride your bike, walk to work, or enjoy some power-shopping while bridging the gap between low-energy and high style.
Summer is playing hide and seek, can’t wait for it to arrive so I can wear these super hot Karen Millen cage sandals on the street!
This statement shoe will provide the building block for your summer wardrobe and will instantly inject a pop of colour into many of your key looks this season. The cage sandal is a chic yet fun take on the trend and can be easily adapted to your work or weekend wear.
Try it wit bright colors and caged sandals and your dresses will shine!
