Black and white monochrome, the most classic of trends and so easy to wear. After all, I don’t know a single person who doesn’t look good in those timeless colours. Add pattern like oversized checks or checkerboards, stripes and polka dots for a playful twist.
Keep it classic and stay in the black and white area or add accessories in pop colours!
Above: I love this black and white checked dress I am wearing from Italian designer Max & Co as it reminds me of Megan Draper from Mad Men (love new season 6 !). The length is work appropriate and accessorizing is fool proof. Tights from Burlington, pointy flats from BCBG.
From left to right:
Alexa Chung proving once again she’s a quirky cool London gal. She accessorised her Paul Smith plaid dress with chunky oxfords, grey socks and a black belt.
Peggy Olsen from Mad Men in a fitted 60s plaid dress with boat neck. Classic!
French actress Marion Cotillard in a black and white geometric dress, mixed up with bright orange heels.
Diane Krueger rocks the Parisienne look: Black and white plaid tweed dress from Chanel with Peter Pan collar. She accessorised with a black beret and classic chain cross-body mini bag. J’adore!
One of my favourite dress shapes because it is so slimming (takes off 5 pounds!), the 60s A-line dress. Stripes mixed with white always look fresh and young. Dress and beige platform ballet pumps from Max & Co
