Autumn trend: Sicilian Brocade H&M

Romantique/ Skirts/ Wardrobe

This autumn 2012 season, designers have gone crazy for opulent brocade. Dolce & gabbana plucked their ideas from Domenico’s home of Sicily and it’s baroque, religious traditons.

Above I’m wearing H&M’s brocade pencil skirt. I love the classic shape which means this can become my new wardrobe staple that I can still wear in 3 years.

When styling brocade, you can cut the sweetness and balance the opulence with a slouchy boyfriend jumper or  a simple cotton top. I’m wearing Mr Romantique’s jumper from Massimo Dutti, tucked in at the waist as the skirt sit’ high on the waist, to empahsize my waistline.

Alternatively you can team lustrous silk with brocade for a truly feminine seductive look.

The H&M pencil skirt teamed with a green silk blouse by Marks and Spencer. Jordana Brewster keeps it ladylike with a peachy pink and gold brocade skirt and silk top, both from Dolce & gabbana.

My pointy kitten heels are from TK Maxx, woolen top with heart detail from Moschino.
