Frozen Lilly Becker

Beauty/ Rebel

Charm up your Winter life

Accessoires/ Romantique
The new charms from Thomas Sabo’s elegant winter collection 2011 carry on the tradition excellent craftsmanship, loving attention to detail and creative uniqueness which gives them the edge over competitors like Pandora, Lovelinks or Tiffany.
Where else do you find a charm in the shape of a little clutch handbag with a clasp that can be opened or a Chanelesque two-tone ballet pump?
As a German living away from home, I fell in love with the cute pretzel charm with zirconia stones depicting the salt.
The pretty Lebkuchen (gingerbread) heart pendant with pink icing from the autumn / winter Sterling Silver collection reminds me of the upcoming Christmas time: Strolling through the romantic Christmas markets in Berlin, warming up with some hot gluehwein in one hand and a gingerbread heart in the other.

A big Thank you to Thomas Sabo for adding wonderful, romantic, unique  charms each season, making Thomas Sabo the number one on the charm market.

Lessons from Madame de Merteuil

Love & Relationship/ Rebel

Madame de Merteuil aus Gefährliche Liebschaften:

“When I came out into society I was 15. I already knew then that the role I was condemned to, namely to keep quiet and do what I was told, gave me the perfect opportunity to listen and observe. Not to what people told me, which naturally was of no interest to me, but to whatever it was they were trying to hide. I practiced detachment. I learned how to look cheerful while under the table I stuck a fork onto the back of my hand. I became a virtuoso of deceit. I consulted the strictest moralists to learn how to appear, philosophers to find out what to think, and novelist to see what I could get away with, and in the end it all came down to one wonderfully simple principle: win or die.”

“Well, I had no choice, did I? I’m a woman. Women are obliged to be far more skillful than men. You can ruin our reputation and our life with a few well-chosen words. So, of course, I had to invent, not only myself, but ways of escape no one has every thought of before. And I’ve succeeded because I’ve always known I was born to dominate your sex and avenge my own.”

A coat for brides

Coats/ Rebel/ Wardrobe

Autumn enchantment

Travel/ Trousers/ Wardrobe
It was my Birthday weekend and oh boy was I spoilt! Not only with presents, but also with an unusual warm, golden November day and magic light. Richmond, a London suburb, with it’s pretty lanes,  boutiques and bustling river promenande, provided a glorious backdrop for the pictures I took in the warm, late November sun.
Me playing with leaves in my autumn gear: Brown corderouys from Stefanel with calve zipper, quilted jacket, shoulder Poncho from Max Mara.

Cooled Almdudler at Stein’s: A popluar German outdoor Restaurant by the riverside. Tuck into a hearty schnitzel while enjoying the pretty views of the riverside.

Paris or Richmond? Richmond!

If you are in Richmond, just 20 min away from the city centre by overground train,  make sure to visit the Roebuck pub. Located overlooking the park, it provides spectacular views over the area.

Snag it and enjoy a glam packed look!

Beauty Chocolate

Beauty/ Romantique

Cocoa-rich chocolate (70%)  is packed full of powerful antioxidants making our skin glow and even protecting it from harmful UV rays! As if this is not enough, chocolate consumption realeases endorphines in the brain, making us feel happy and content.

As we all know though, only a small limited amount of dark chocolate per day is considered healthy.

Luckily, there are lots of great beauty products out there taking advantage of the benefits of cocoa. We can indulge in them without a guilty conscience and putting on one gram!

Below are my favourite, tried and tested, beauty products!

  • “Dresdner Essenz” chocolate bath: An aromatic sweet chocolate and vanilla bath, ideal for relaxing after a stressful day at work.
  • “Delice de Soleil” Bronzing Powder from Bourjois: A natural bronzer for lightly tanned skin containing delicious cocoa bean extract.
  • “Schoko skin Mask” from Schaebens (from Germany’s drugstores: In the UK available over Amazon): This mask contains delicious chocolate extract to make the skin smoother and more relaxed. The scent of the cocoa bean adds to the Spa feeling.
  • “Chocolate and Mint” Shower gel from Original source: Yummy chocolate and tangy mint stimulate the brain and soul
  • “Honey and caramel” scented candle from Glade – for snuggly winter nights at home

Latin Beauty Eva Mendes likes it natural and sweet! Here are her beauty secrets:

Her favourite perfume is nose candy “Angel” – you either hate it or love it. I personally love the scent of spiced patchouli and chocolate praline

Eva likes skin-like, natural foundation – Dr Perricone’s “No Foundation Foundation” promises just that. The tinted moisturizer provides only light coverage and looks like you have no make-up on!

Skincare for Eva is also about eating healthily, drinking lots of water and taking her Omega supplements from Dr Perricone to nourish the skin from inside.

Eva “Never, never, never uses lipglosses. Glosses can look extremely vulgar” – instead she nourishes her full lips with Dr Hauschka’s shea butter stick.

The “Panda Look” – dark circles around the eyes – is something Eva inherited. She covers them up with Laura Mercier’s secret Camouflage Concealer. On top she puts a hint of light reflecting loose setting powder.

Nars multiples in Laguna and Orgasm: Eva prefers creamy based face products – the tawny Laguna combined with the fresh Orgasm gives her the perfect glow. Eva’s favourite nail varnish “Mucho dinero” by Essie completes her minimalistic and sophisticated look.

Monochrome Peter Pan dress

Dresses/ Romantique/ Wardrobe

Cute as a button is this empire style Peter Pan collared dress by Topshop. This season, there is just no getting away from Peter Pan collars. Do it like Alexa Chung who rocks a Louis Vuitton dress with printed shoes and Mary Janes. The matching handbag in a sturdy doctor’s style is a keeper too. Also available in blue and pink.

About Via Repubblica: Zanotti Pelle‘s history started more than 20 years ago, when Nives Zanotti, designer since youth, and her husband decided to create their own leather handbags brand called Via Repubblica. In few years the Company grown up and increased its prestigious customer’s list; today Via Repubblica it’s sold all over the world, especially in Japan, Great Britain, Russia and USA, inside the best boutiques and department stores. The reasons of its success must be searched in the handicraft tradition and in the special care for the product. Every single handbag is handmade and singularly checked on its quality and finishing. Every season, Via Repubblica creates a complete new collection, with new styles, shapes, materials and colours.
